
Graham Gillette has over
twenty years experience in public affairs, media relations, event
planning, public administration and communications.
During his career he has held management positions in state and
federal government, been a member of several political campaign teams,
served as spokesperson for numerous organizations, managed many national
media events, and has provided public affairs counsel to a variety of
businesses, not-for-profit associations and individuals.
This diverse experience allows him to present his clients with a
unique perspective of media affairs, corporate communications,
government relations and marketing.
Graham Gillette began his
political career in Florida as an aide to the Bob Martinez for Governor
campaign. During the
Martinez Administration, Graham served as deputy director of political
appointments and, later in the term, as the Governor's director of
scheduling. In 1990,
President George Bush named Governor Martinez to be Director of the
Office of National Drug Control Policy and Graham continued to serve the
Governor as his deputy chief of staff.
Graham Gillette has formulated
and executed public affairs programs for corporate, political and
not-for-profit clients. This
work has included devising marketing initiatives, serving as a corporate
spokesperson, formulating and implementing crisis management plans,
managing large public events, developing strategic plans, serving as a
political consultant, and coordinating government relations.
Some of Graham's clients have been Long Lines, Inc., Iowa Health
– Des Moines, Campus Book Store, Inc., United Airlines, Iowa Governor
Terry Branstad, Former Tennessee Governor and Senator Lamar Alexander,
Argosy Gaming Company, the National Federation of Independent Business,
Americans for Balanced Energy Choices, the Iowa Petroleum Marketers
Association, and TECO Energy.
Graham Gillette is the
president of Gillette Strategic Resources, LLC and holds a Bachelor of
Science in marketing from the University of South Florida. He was a
member of the Des Moines School Board from 2001 - 2004, served as vice
chair of the Des Moines Metro Transit Authority, was president of the
Board of Trustees of the Des Moines Club, is a past president of the
Iowa Chapter of the American Marketing Association, was a member of the
boards of the Iowa Better Business Bureau, and the Plymouth Church
Nursery School.
